Speaking to reporters after a meeting with Election Commission officials, party spokesperson Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said there has been no apology from the Congress party as yet. “Rahul Gandhi is not a Digvijaya Singh, he is a star campaigner of the Congress, there have been no apologies from party or him yet,” he said. The BJP has also appealed to the Election Commission that political parties be able to conduct rallies in states without any risk to their activists or to those in attendance. “In other states where elections will take place security arrangements for them should be in place and we have appealed that we should be able to hold rallies safely without any risk to our activists,” Naqvi told reporters outside the Election Commission. Six crude bombs went off at a BJP rally in Patna hours ahead of Narendra Modi’s address sparking off political blame games and raising questions about Nitish Kumar’s failure to ensure adequate security.
