Littérateurs and filmmakers who have been returning their awards to protest against intolerance in the country now have a new antagonist. Bhoothnath filmmaker Vivek Sharma has made a video lambasting everyone from Dibakar Banerjee to Shah Rukh Khan for supporting the AwardWapsi movement. Titled Dhikkar Hai, the video shows six young actors venting their anger (through rhyming verse that stretches the boundaries of anything even remotely resembling poetry) against those who have returned their awards, questioning the sort of ‘filmkar’ or ‘patrakar’ they are, when they have never tried to help the poor or managed to bring about change through their work. [caption id=“attachment_2511342” align=“alignleft” width=“380”] Vivek Sharma. AFP Vivek Sharma. AFP[/caption] In just two minutes and 39 seconds, the video basically calls everyone who returned their awards ’traitors’ and says they have insulted the nation. It ends with a message calling for its viewers to boycott the award returnees: Let’s Boycott… All Those Pseudo Intellect… Film Makers… Stars… Journalists… And Anti-Nationals For Returning Their Awards Dhikkaar Hai… (sic) The video has been doing the rounds of social media for the past few days and has evoked mixed reactions on Twitter, with many praising Sharma’s efforts while others slammed him for it. Many Twitterati were impressed with the video, saying it tells the truth and deserved to be made.

Other tweeple were not so impressed, even going to the enxtent of calling it “lame” and “crappy”

I keep expecting someone to pull out a bell and go “Shame” every time someone says “Dhikkar Hain.” https://t.co/qETcJejvN4
