Battlefront Gujarat: Ramdev hails Modi, slams Congress

Baba Ramdev emerged again, this time in Gujarat and reignited his favourite non-Yoga passion – bashing up the Congress. The Yoga guru on Monday showered encomiums on Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi, calling him the most-deserving prime ministerial candidate, a Times of India report said. Although Ramdev made it clear that he is not going to campaign for BJP, he said he will support anyone who can make Congress bite the dust in the forthcoming polls.[caption id=“attachment_507820” align=“alignleft” width=“380”] ![](https://images.firstpost.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/10/Ramdev-Reuters.jpg "Ramdev-Reuters") Baba Ramdev. Reuters[/caption] “At the Ramlila Maidan agitation, I had said we will campaign against the Congress and we are going to do that in Gujarat. Congress is like a cancer of the country and everybody should work to remove it from the system”— the Times of India quoted Ramdev as saying. Notably enough, the Yoga guru’s stand on BJP chief Nitin Gadkari over his alleged dubious business deals was far softer than the harsh views he holds against the Congress regarding scams.
