Ahmedabad: In a move that might somewhat restore Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi’s image before the state’s Muslim community, a bunch of Aligarh Muslim University alumni from Bihar will campaign for the Bharatiya Janata Party. This was stated to The Indian Express by Bihar BJP legislator Rameshwar Churasia on Monday in Ahmedabad. AP[/caption] Convener of AMU Old Boys Association, Bihar, Raees Azam along with his group will be in Gujarat in the next three weeks. “I had a conversation with the chief minister of Gujarat through Bihar’s BJP MLA Rameshwar Chaurasia. Modi has assured me that the rights of Muslims in Gujarat would be protected and they would get justice,” Azam told DNA . “We will expose the Congress among Muslims by telling them that the party had been indulging in politics of fear and not of development. We will convince Muslims that they should vote for Modi and his development work. We will be in Gujarat for the campaign in the second week of November,” he said. The state is going to the polls in December. Modi earned a bad name during the carnage of 2002 where his government as alleged failed miserably to protect the minority community from the loot and bloodbath.
