New Delhi: The Aam Aadmi Party on Friday said it will approach the Election Commission against Congress leader and Law Minister Kapil Sibal for allegedly distributing water purifiers in his Lok Sabha constituency.
“The water purifiers bear the Congress’ symbol. This proves that he has violated the model code of conduct and we will approach the Election Commission,” AAP leader Sanjay Singh said.
AAP’s Ashutosh will be standing in election against the Kapil Sibal, who is currently MP from Chandni Chowk constituency in New Delhi. Kapil Sibal’s other opponenty from the constituency could be BJP’s Vijender Gupta.
As Firstpost had earlier noted, the constituency had a “sizeable baniya (business community) vote and a large number of Muslim and Dalit voters which could be the deciding factor” in this year’s election.
