In Delhi, a woman filed a complaint against Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Dinesh Mohaniya for misbehaving with her. Mohaniya who is a lawmaker from Sangam Vihar constituency has allegedly pushed and abused women, who had visited his office to complain about their water woes. The AAP leader denied all allegations. The timing of the incident is not clear yet. Speaking to ANI, the woman said, “When we went to Dinesh Mohaniya’s office, he refused to identify me. I must tell that I go to him daily because of water issues.” She also said, “He pushed me & other women, abused us. We want a case against Dinesh Mohaniya, he should be arrested.”
The AAP leader responded to the allegation in an interview with ANI and refused to recognise the woman. He claimed that the allegation was an attempt to defame him.
Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had appointed Mohaniya as vice chairman of Delhi Jal Board. The incident could bring heavy criticism to the AAP government in Delhi. Earlier in February a woman had allegedly slapped Mohaniya in his Sangam Vihar constituency when he had gone there to study the problem of water scarcity in the area. Mohaniya, however, described the entire episode, which took place, as being part of a conspiracy against him.
