Yogi Adityanath visits Agra, participates in cleanliness drive at Taj Mahal

Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath visited Agra where he participated in a cleanliness drive, inaugrated several projects and visited Taj Mahal.

Adityanath is the first BJP chief minister to visit Taj Mahal. He also allocated Rs 370 crore for development projects related to the mausoleum, and laid the foundation stone for a tourist pathway from Taj Mahal to Agra Fort. Twitter/@CMOfficeUP

After arriving Agra, he reached Nagla Pema to inspect the spot proposed for a rubber check dam on the Yamuna river. The visit comes after controversial BJP leader Sangeet Som described the marble monument as a “blot” on India’s culture and saying it was “built by traitors". Twitter/@CMOfficeUP
