Indian openers Shikhar Dhawan and KL Rahul shared a breezy 56 run opening stand inside first 10 overs of the Day 1. Dhawan was dismissed for 35, while Rahul, who was making his comeback, went on to score his 6th consecutive half-century. AP
Sri Lanka's Dilruwan Perera struck on his first ball trapping Dhawan leg before wicket. The batsman missed a sweep and was given not out by the on-field umpire until it was reversed after Chandimal decided to use the DRS. AP
Indian captain Virat Kohli didn't last long as he was caught smartly by Angelo Mathews at 1st slip off Rangana Hearth's bowling. Kohli was dismissed for 13 and left his team in a bit of bother with score reading 133/3. AP
India's Cheteshwar Pujara raised his bat and helmet to celebrate his 13 Test century. It was also his 2nd century of the series and 3rd against the hosts Sri Lanka. Pujara remained unbeaten on 128. AP
