Eyeing the support of the influential Patel or Patidar community, Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi criticised the Gujarat government for not handling the Patel reservation issue well. PTI
During his rallies, Gandhi criticised the government's demonetisation policy and mentioned how the measure had hit the income of small traders, farmers and labourers the most. PTI
Locals treated Gandhi with tea served in traditional chaliyu (kind of bowl) in Hanjrapar while some women also tied rakhis to him. PTI
The highlights of Gandhi's visit included a ride on a bullock cart, meetings on a string at Hanjrapar and a meeting with school children at Handana. PTI
