Mathura MP Hema Malini asking a question during the Question Hour in Lok Sabha. Protests began in the House soon after it commenced, with members from various parties trooping into the Well holding placards forcing Speaker Sumitra Mahajan to adjourn the house till 12 pm and then for the whole day.

In the Upper House, proceedings were disrupted due to uproarious scenes, with the House being adjourned for the day in the afternoon after witnessing two adjournments earlier, once till 2 pm and then again for an hour.

After 3 pm, members from TDP, AIADMK and Congress trooped into the Well raising slogans and carrying placards. As the slogan-shouting continued, Deputy Chairman PJ Kurien adjourned the House for the day. PTI

Addressing a press conference after the session, Rajnath Singh expressed concern over the logjam in parliament urging the political parties to ensure smooth functioning of both the Houses. He also made it clear that the government was ready to discuss any issue to be raised by the Opposition. PTI

In the morning, MPs of Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) wore black dresses and hold protests outside the Parliament over the demand to constitute Cauvery Water Management board. They accused the government of delay in adopting tactics for the formation of the board. PTI
