Congress bagged 21 seats in the 60-member Assembly, closely followed by NPP which won 19 seats, while BJP managed to grab two seats. Calling the result as not on the expected lines, Mukul Sangma said that and he would keep his cards close to his chest with regard to the Congress forming government in the state. PTI

In Nagaland, the Naga Peoples Front (NPF) emerged as the single largest party winning 21 seats, while the combined BJP-Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party alliance won 21 seats. Nagaland’s chief minister TR Zeliang said that NPF is ready to form a new government in the state with the BJP if it comes forward for a post-poll alliance. PTI

BJP has gone from ‘No One’ to ‘No 1’, from ‘shunya to shikhar’. Taking a dig at the CPM, the prime minister said that when the sun sets, it is red and when it rises, it is saffron. He furher added that a day after India celebrated Holi, saffron has washed away all the colours. PTI
