While launching his “dream project”, Modi blamed the previous UPA government for delaying the venture by creating hurdles in the name of environment. PTI

Modi, who is visiting the state for the third time this month, also took the first trip in the ferry from Ghogha to Dahej with 100 visually-impaired children from Bhavnagar. “This is the first of its kind project not only in India, but also in South-East Asia,” Modi said at a rally, which comes ahead of the Assembly polls in the state. The prime minister said that national waterway project will be more than 17,000 kilometre long and will be a revolutionary project for the fishermen in Gujarat. He said that inter-state waterway and coastal transport services will be integrated in the future. PTI

Modi said that we can reduce the cost of logistics by promoting water transport, adding that the Sagar Mala project alone will provide around one crore jobs to the country’s people. PTI
