Polling in Meghalaya was largely peaceful. State capital Shillong remained mostly closed as people stood in queues at polling stations. A total of 106 companies of the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF), along with the state armed personnel and police, were deployed across the state. PTI

Chief Minister Mukul Sangma along with his family exercised his franchise at a polling booth in Chengkompara. Voters were seen queueing up at polling stations across the state since Tuesday morning. PTI

Polling in Nagaland saw sporadic incidences including throwing of a crude bomb which injured one person, another incident of firing took place in Akuluto Assembly constituency killing one civilan and injuring two. PTI

A total of 11,91,513 electorate, including 5,89,806 women and 26,900 new voters, were to decide the fate of 195 candidates, including five women and many independents in Nagaland. PTI

The results of the polls in the two states, along with that of Tripura, will be declared on 3 March.
