London tube blast: IED explosion injures at least 22 at Parsons Green station; no arrests so far

An explosion on an underground train at Parsons Green tube station in south-west London on Friday left at least 22 commuters injured.

Several people are said to have suffered facial burns after the explosion; some of the commuters reportedly were trampled and suffered crush injuries in the rush to escape. Reuters

So far the London Fire Brigade has rescued 253 people from a train not involved in the incident. The investigation is now underway by the Metrpolitan Police’s Counter Terrorism Command. Reuters

The London Police also confirmed that Improvised Explosive Device (IED) caused the explosion. So far, none of the known terror groups have claimed responsibility for the attack and the police has launched a massive manhunt for unknown suspects. AP
