Pant was a freedom fighter and one of the architects of modern India. Alongside Mahatma Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru and Vallabhbhai Patel, Pant was a key figure in the movement for India's Independence. PTI
Pant was also one of the foremost political leaders of Uttar Pradesh after Independence and a key player in the movement to establish Hindi as the official language of India. PTI
Pant served as the Chief Minister of United Provinces (erstwhile Uttar Pradesh) from 1937 to 1939 and then again between 1946 and 1954. PTI
