Adityanath is the first BJP chief minister to visit Taj Mahal. He also allocated Rs 370 crore for development projects related to the mausoleum, and laid the foundation stone for a tourist pathway from Taj Mahal to Agra Fort. Twitter/@CMOfficeUP
After arriving Agra, he reached Nagla Pema to inspect the spot proposed for a rubber check dam on the Yamuna river. The visit comes after controversial BJP leader Sangeet Som described the marble monument as a “blot” on India’s culture and saying it was “built by traitors". Twitter/@CMOfficeUP
