Officials attributed the mayhem to a cloudburst as some areas recorded 7-12 centimetres of rainfall. Drains were overflowing at many places, inundating major roads in the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad. PTI

Roads in the city suffered heavy damages and traffic was moving at a snail’s pace at some places. Arrival and departure of flights at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport was also affected. AP

Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has urged the official machinery to be on high alert. He also directed officials to take up relief work and respond to problems wherever they occurred. AP
