Heavy rains in Maharashtra, Bihar, Assam trigger floods

Heavy rains triggered floods across the country. Toll has crossed 25 in Assam, 60 people have died in Bihar as situation remains grim across the country.

In Himachal Pradesh, heavy rains triggered landslides and disrupted normal life as the MeT department has predicted rain and thundershowers in low, middle and high hills for the next six days. In Mandi, Himachal Pradesh the Beas river has swollen over the Bunds on Tuesday. PTI

In Mumbai, a tree fell on a taxi near St Xavier’s College on Tuesday due to heavy rains lashing the city. In a similar incident last week, a security guard was injured when a tree branch fell on him near the Income tax office at Churchgate following which he was rushed to a civic hospital.PTI

In Valsad, Maharashtra, a district North of Nashik, people were marooned on the top of a submerged house on Tuesday after heavy rains. Incessant rains pummelled the city and other parts of district on the third consecutive day, triggering flood in Godavari river which has crossed the danger mark in the Nashik and adjoining areas.
