After heavy showers on Friday morning, a man was spotted wading through knee-deep water with his bicycle on a severely waterlogged road in the Capital. Many other office-goers also encountered difficulties while commuting to work. Slower than ever! Several vehicles trailed as water-logging affected commutes on several key roads including Delhi-Meerut Highway, Naraina-Moti Bagh road near Dhaula Kuan Flyover, and ITO. Following heavy showers, a portion of the roof of Terminal 1 at New Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport collapsed on Friday morning. The unfortunate accident left one person dead and multiple people injured. As a result of the collapse, several morning flights from the airport were also disrupted. AP

The newly sworn-in Civil Aviation Minister Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu took stock of the situation at the Delhi Airport after the canopy collapsed at the New Delhi airport. He also announced a compensation of Rs 20 lakh for the deceased and Rs 3 lakh for the injured. PTI

According to India Meteorological Department (IMD) data, 228.1 mm of rainfall was recorded at Safdarjung, the city’s primary weather station, 192.8 mm at Lodhi Road, Mausam Bhavan, 150.4 mm at Ridge, 106.6 mm at Palam, and 66.3 mm at Ayanagar in the last 20 to 30 hours. PTI
