Father Tom Uzhunnalil was abducted from Yemen's port city of Aden in 2016, but was released last week. He was transferred to Muscat and then flown to his home in Kerala on Tuesday. AP

Addressing the media for the first time, Uzhunnalil thanked all the people involved in his rescue, including his relatives and friends who prayed for his safety. AP
Father Tom was abducted by militants in March 2016, when they attacked the missionary home he was working in. Sixteen other people, including four nuns, were killed in the attack. AP
