It also served as a platform for celebrities to extend their support to Gaza and highlight the plight of Palestinians amid the war. Several celebrities at the 77th Primetime Emmy Awards took the opportunity to show their support towards Palestine. One of them was actress and comedian Megan Salter, who was seen wearing a simple white T-shirt and blue jeans, the classic American combination. But what caught everybody’s attention was the star’s bucket bag-turned-picket sign, reading ‘CEASE FIRE’. She also sported a red pin at her waist from Artists4Ceasefire. AFP

Javier Bardem was another celebrity who made heads turn after he chose to wear a keffiyeh. The Spanish star, who was nominated for the Best Supporting Actor in a limited or anthology series or movie for ‘Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story’, not just wore the pin but also spoke at length about Israel’s war against Hamas in Gaza. Going a step further, Hannah Einbinder mentioned Palestine in her speech while accepting the Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series for her work on HBO Max’s ‘Hacks’. While accepting the award, she said, “Go Birds, F**k ICE and Free Palestine.” AFP

Also supporting Gaza, was actress, Ruth Negga. The actress was seen walking the red carpet, donning the red pin like the rest of the supporters of the Palestinian cause. Negga was nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie for her role in Presumed Innocent. AP

Sporting the red pin was actress Aimee Lou Wood. She walked the red carpet wearing a soft pink strapless gown by Alexander McQueen with a red bodice. Wood earned a nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for her role as Chelsea in ‘The White Lotus’. AP

American actor Chris Perfetti was seen attending the event wearing a tuxedo by Tanner Fletcher at the Emmy Awards. The red pin was what caught people’s attention. AP
