Shortly after his arrival, Trump addressed American service members and then headed to a private golf course for an informal lunch and golf with Japanese prime minister Shinzo Abe. AP
Commenting on what could be expected from the Japan trip, Trump told reporters aboard Air Force One during his flight from Hawaii,"It's going to be very positive and very historic." AP
The 12-day, five-nation trip is the longest far east itinerary for a president in a generation which comes at a precarious moment for Trump. AP
