According to SAFAR (System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting And Research), the 24-hour rolling average of PM2.5 and PM10 were 154 and 256 micrograms per cubic metre respectively at around 11 pm. PTI
Of the eight monitoring stations in Delhi listed with SAFAR, seven of them had air quality reaching severe levels. PTI
Although the Met office has said that the situation is better in Delhi than last year due to favourable climatic conditions preventing smoke-filled air from the agricultural belt of Haryana and Punjab. PTI
While last year on Diwali day, Central Pollution Control Board’s (CPCB) air quality index had a value of 431, putting the air in the severe category, this year it was 319 and in the very poor range. PTI
