Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman visits Indian Army, IAF bases in Tezpur after trip to Nathu La border

After her visit to the Indo-China border in Sikkim, Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman arrived at the Gajraj Corps headquarters and IAF’s eastern airbase in Tezpur in Assam.

The visit to Tezpur was part of Sitharaman’s maiden visit to the Eastern Command after she took over the charge of the defence ministry from Arun Jaitley on 6 September 2017. Twitter @DefenceMinIndia

Meanwhile, Air Chief Marshal BS Dhanoa, while addressing IAF personnel on the Air Force Day on Sunday, said that the IAF was prepared to fight a war at a short notice. Twitter @DefenceMinIndia
