Congress-led Opposition meets President to discuss demonetisation

Opposition members were protesting the government’s sudden decision to withdraw large-denomination currency from circulation, a move that has caused enormous hardship to millions of people in the country’s predominantly cash-based economy. AP

The Opposition parties also accused the ruling Bharatiya janata Party of preventing a debate on the issue in India’s Parliament. AP
