Districts of Kishanganj, Araria, Purnea and Katihar are worst-hit with over one million people affected in the last two days. ETV
Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar has sought the help of the army and the air force to carry out rescue and relief. ETV
The state disaster management department has asked people living in low lying areas to move to higher places as heavy rains continues. ETV
Nitish said that he has spoken to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and home minister Rajnath Singh to brief them about the flood scenario. ETV
The Centre has deployed 300 army personnel and two army choppers along with 3,900 State Disaster Response Force and National Disaster Response Force personnel in evacuation and relief operations. PTI
