Five of the 145 US troops who took part in the parade wore period World War 1 uniforms and Trump saluted the detachment as it passed. French soldiers taking part in the mission against the Islamic State also took part in the parade. AP

Macron vowed to “fight without mercy” inside and outside France to end extremist attacks. Some of the victims of the Nice attack and their families also attended the Bastille Day celebrations. AP
