Badminton High Performance Centre at Kalinga Stadium: Inside badminton's new destination in India
Badminton has a new destination in India as the Dalmia Bharat Pullela Gopichand Badminton Academy was inaugurated on 12 December 2024 in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, by Badminton Association of India President Himanta Biswa Sarma and Odisha CM Mohan Charan Majhi.

The high-performance, located inside the Kalinga Stadium, is a collaboration between the Odisha government, Pullela Gopichand Badminton Foundation, and Dalmia Bharat Group.

The Dalmia Bharat Pullela Gopichand Badminton Academy, which has an indoor area of 77,000 sq ft, has eight air-conditioned courts with a seating facility for 400 spectators.

The Dalmia Bharat Pullela Gopichand Badminton Academy will house 50 students inside the campus who will be trained under Gopichand’s guidance.

Apart from a cafeteria, the academy also has a gymnasium and an amphitheater for outdoor activities.

The high performance centre on the seventh floor has a special top view deck which gives the 360-degree view of the Bhubaneswar city.
