Over 1,000 protesters gathered at outside the embassy of Myanmar in New Delhi on Thursday demanding refuge for Rohingyas fleeing action by Myanmar. PTI
Protesters from various organisations, educationists, sociologists gathered outside the embassy and raised slogans such as “Stop the genocide” and “Save Rohingya Muslims”. PTI
They also raised slogan against the government of Myanmar for not taking requisite action to stop killings of Rohingyas in the country. PTI
An estimated one million Rohingyas live in Rakhine, where the Myanmar Army carried out a campaign nine months ago in response to a rebel attack that led to more than 70,000 members of the community fleeing across the border to Bangladesh. PTI
