In an interview with TOI, VK Rajeev from IMD Mumbai said, “The depression in the south portion of Gujarat has given Mumbai these showers. However, we are looking at it crossing over, after which the spells may not be very heavy." “We expect currents and winds to bring along a lot of moisture over Mumbai again, as the monsoon progresses,” said KS Hosalikar, deputy director general, western region, IMD in an interview with HT.
