MNS stir: Raj Thackeray gets notice from cops

A day before the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena’s statewide stir against toll collection, the Mumbai police have served a notice on party chief Raj Thackeray warning him against disturbing the law and order situation. The notice, issued under section 149 of the Criminal Procedure Code by the Shivaji Park police, says “if the party workers resort to any illegal activities, action would be initiated against them as per law.” [caption id=“attachment_1384481” align=“alignleft” width=“380”] Raj Thackeray. He had dared the state government to arrest him. MNS workers had vandalized several booths after a similar call by the party chief on 26 January. The police said the notice had been issued as a preventive measure and they would be tough on unlawful assembly and any threat to the law and order situation.
