Man fires gun when stopped from entering RBI, arrested

A man was arrested for forcibly trying to enter the Reserve Bank of India building in Mumbai and firing an airgun when he was stopped from doing so.

The arrested person has been identified as Padmagiri Raj Shekhar. He had reportedly gone to the central bank office in south Mumbai this evening and had sought to enter it, when he was stopped.

Shekhar reportedly fired in the air with his airgun he had in his possession after being stopped by the central bank's security staff.

The accused was taken in custody by the police and was sent to the MRA Marg police station in south Mumbai where he is being interrogated.

The motive for his actions is presently not known.
