Mumbai: A sessions court on Tuesday rejected the anticipatory bail application of key accused in the partial collapse of a residential building in suburban Mahim, in which ten people were killed. A portion of Altaf Manzil had caved in on 10 June allegedly due to illegal alterations carried out in the four-storeyed building. The FIR also named Irfan Furniturewala, Sharif Furniturewala and Mohammed Furniturewala–three sons of ex-owner of the building–besides Iqbal Ibrahim, the owner of a shop and basement on the north side, Bafna and officials of the G/North Ward and officials attached to the BMC head quarters. Bafna had last week filed the application and blamed Ibrahim for the damage. PTI
