It is increasingly becoming clear that wearing masks is becoming as important as social distancing to combat COVID-19. Studies have also shown that countries which made masks mandatory have flattened the curve before those that didn't.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also exhorted Indians to wear masks when outdoors while cautioning against people unnecessarily wearing medical grade masks that are already in short supply.
