New Delhi: Change.org, with close to 120 million users globally, is seen as the world’s largest platform for social change through its online petitions. It will be launching a Hindi version of its website on 2 October at the stroke of midnight.
In a move designed to “open up the digital campaigning space to crores of Indian citizens,” Change.org’s Preethi Herman told Firstpost that “Launching Change.org Hindi on Mahatma Gandhi’s birth anniversary is the biggest tribute to the concept that every person can create positive social change."

That is why we decided to also start a Hindi site to make it more accessible for people across the country,” she said. Herman also added that, “With thirty lakh users and more than 350 impactful campaigns in India, Change.org has proven that digital people power is having a real impact in India — and being available in Hindi gives it the potential for even greater impact.” But English users need not worry. The Hindi site will not be replacing its English counterpart. It’s simply coming in as an addition. To date, Change.org’s users have campaigned on the platform on various issues ranging from civic issues, road safety, net neutrality, women’s safety issues, voting rights, saving trees, freedom of expression and so on.
