It’s easy to take your senses for granted but to know how much they matter, see someone who didn’t always have one discover it. A video that is presently going viral is of Joe Milne from Gateshead, United Kingdom, discovering what it is like to hear for the first time in her life. Uploaded by her friend Tremayne Crossley, the video shows Milne after being fitted with cochlear implants. The video has already crossed over a million views since it was uploaded on 26 March. Image courtesy: Youtube video[/caption] Writing on YouTube, Crossley wote: “My Friend Joe Milne who suffers from Ushers syndrome, was deaf from birth. She had bilateral cochlea implants fitted which allow her to hear for the first ever, this is the moment they are switched on!” Milne spoke about her experience of being able to hear for the first time. “Hearing things for the first time is so emotional from the ping of a light switch to running water. I can’t stop crying and I can already foresee how it’s going to be life changing," she told The Journal. Crossley, according to a Gawker report, has even put together a set of songs that he believes Milne should hear and it was even played on BBC radio. The first song? Imagine by John Lennon. Milne’s reaction to the hearing the days of the week for the first time is one that may just leave your teary eyed and a little more appreciative of what you have. Check out the video below:
