Ronald McDonald, McDonald’s popular mascot, has undergone a makeover. Previously, Ronald sported a yellow jumpsuit, but will now be seen in yellow cargo pants, striped rugby shirts and a vest. This move comes in the wake of the mascot making his Twitter debut with the hashtag #RonaldMcDonald. In fact, he also gets another costume for special days comprising of a bright red blazer, golden arches on the pocket and McDonald’s signature on the back. As far as the designer for the dress is concerned, it’s Ann Hould-Ward, who as this piece by CBC points out is a “Tony award-winning theatrical designer.” But it’s not all different, as Ronald will retains his iconic big red shoes. According to CBC, though his “hair is slightly more coiffed and his makeup more subdued.” But the new dress style of Ronald hasn’t wowed too many fans with some terming it ‘creepy’. According to MarketWatch, “Social analytics firm Topsy’s search showed the number of tweets with the #NotLovinIt hashtag has far exceeded the #LovinIt hashtag." Check out some tweets below:
