Maharashtra: Children can use mother's name on official documents

Women in Maharashtra will now have the option of using either their father or husband’s name in all official documents, while children will be able to use the mother’s name. “Children can use either their mother’s or father’s name,” a Government Resolution issued by the Women and Child Welfare Department today said.
