The truth is that we have all lied to our parents. From something as simple as “I don’t have homework today” a kid to “I’m staying at a friend’s house for assignment work” as a teen, most children have had to hide certain activities from their parents, just to be the ‘adarsh balak’. Some of these ’lies’ as told by Indians on Twitter struck a chord as people relived how it was growing up in a conservative household where one was allowed only ‘all girl parties’ and we never ’tasted alcohol’.
