#LiesIveToldMyParents sparks hilarious confessions from Indians on Twitter

The truth is that we have all lied to our parents. From something as simple as “I don’t have homework today” a kid to “I’m staying at a friend’s house for assignment work” as a teen, most children have had to hide certain activities from their parents, just to be the ‘adarsh balak’. And while we cannot actually own up to them in front of our parents, they do make for good tweets as was evident when #LiesIveToldMyParents began trending. Some of these ’lies’ as told by Indians on Twitter struck a chord as people relived how it was growing up in a conservative household where one was allowed only ‘all girl parties’ and we never ’tasted alcohol’.
