[caption id=“attachment_113964” align=“alignleft” width=“380” caption=“NYT”] [/caption]It’s official. India’s urban youth today are all about having a good time. According to the results of a survey conducted across 13 Indian cities by MTV India Insights Studio, a majority of urban youth from both sexes spend a bulk of their pocket money on going to pubs, clubbing, booze, smokes, dope and eating out. Apart from clubbing, going to pubs, and dates, which constitute 25% of male spending and just 13% of female spending (Clearly boys are still paying for their girls), there was hardly any noticeable difference in spending between the sexes when it came to putting down money for cigarettes, alcohol, coffee and eating out. Apart from going out, youth from both sexes fork out almost equal quantities of pocket money on buying gadgets, holidaying and Internet surfing. But there are a few interesting differences in gender spend. It seems that boys are much bigger movie buffs than girls for instance, while girls still love to accessorize.
