Pratap Simha, the BJP's first-time 38-year-old MP from Mysore, decided on a pretty unique way to promote tourism in his constituency. By jumping out of a plane at 13,000 feet at the Mysore Airport.
"When I boarded the four-seater Cessna aircraft and reached the desired height for the jump, it was a bit scary. But, when I took the plunge and floated in the air, it turned out to be my lifetime experience. The dive was beyond belief and enormously thrilling," he told CNN-IBN after completing the dive.
The journalist-turned-MP has told the Hindu that he's the only MP in the present Lok Sabha to have undertaken this task and was accompanied by instructor from the US.
Simha has said he was trying to promote tourism in his constituency and he's hoping the jump will provide a boost to the sky diving service that has been started at the Mysore airport since April 2015. Well, this may just help.
