Five women who have led the charge in India’s Hollywood invasion

Not many Indian actors have been able to cross the cultural barriers and could make a mark in Hollywood. However, the recent times have shown increasing involvement of Indian female actors in American film industry. Hold your horses as we bring to you five such top female actors who have proved their mettle on the global platform-

Deepika Padukone

Deepika is one of the biggest Indian actresses to foray into Hollywood while her career in Bollywood is still on its peak. Her film- XXX: The Return of Xander Cage opposite Vin Diesel is set for release this year.

Priyanka Chopra

The charismatic actress is among the most successful Bollywood stars to have pursued a career in Hollywood. Her TV show- Quantico, which is currently in its second season, was well received in the USA and in India. Looking forward to her upcoming Hollywood flick Baywatch to be released this year!

Aishwarya Rai-Bachchan

The actor’s big break came in 2007 when she appeared in The Last Legion with actors like Ben Kingsley and Colin Firth. Although the film didn't do well, she was soon seen again in the Steve Martin-starrer, The Pink Panther 2 as a villain.


The gorgeous lady was seen in two Hollywood films, both based on novels- Namesake and Life of Pi. Her intense performance won several accolades around the globe!

Shabana Azmi

The legendary actor has given some exceptional performances in Hollywood. Films like John Schlesinger’s Madame Sousatzka and Roland Joffe's City of Joy were two of her most refined works.
