When you hear of foreigners visiting India for the first time, you are preparing yourself to be bombarded with a bunch of horror stories.
However, a German woman recently visited Nashik for an internship with an NGO and had mostly wonderful things to say about her experience. Detailed in a Humans of India post, Nadine, who was in India for the first time, made many positive observations about her experience.
The post starts with Nadine talking about the dismal state of poverty and stray animals, but then it goes on to describe in detail how Nadine had the time of her life during the internship and was very impressed by the hospitality and friendliness of the people she met.
"I had never experienced so much cheerfulness of so many people. In my country, there is nothing like that, the people are more reserved when they meet a stranger and they need more time to become close with someone. Being very open-minded I just loved this kind of lifestyle, every day we made new friends," she wrote.
She also mentioned getting stared at by many people and being overwhelmed by the Ganpati processions in Nashik. And she also rued about the lack of punctuality here, compared to the German way of life. However, she concludes that she loves the laidback Indian lifestyle, and wants to the spend the rest of her time in India. Now isn't that sweet?
