Bearded Tyrion, braver Arya Stark: What 'Game Of Thrones' Season 5 photos tell us

It may only be two minutes long, but the trailer of Game of Thrones Season 5 was quite a pleasant surprise, filled with many beloved characters, crazy surprises, and quotable one-liners. And, HBO was just full of treats-- as it released photos, soon after the trailer. So, here are some of the best photos from the new season.

Bearded Tyrion, braver Arya Stark: What Game Of Thrones Season 5 photos tell us

What's better than our favourite Game of Thrones character? It is our favourite Game of Thrones character with a beard! In this picture, Conleth Hill as Varys and Peter Dinklage as Tyrion Lannister. In the last season, Tyrion, with Varys’ and Jaime’s help managed to escape — but not before killing Shae, and his father. Free at last, with Varys by his side, Tyrion’s future is unknown — but, as he says, it definitely won’t include him sitting on the Iron Throne

Daniel Portman as Podrick Payne and Gwendoline Christie as Brienne of Tarth. The relationship between Brienne and Jaime was one of the unexpected delights of season three, and another great odd couple pairing in Brienne and Podrick Payne started to develop in their brief appearances in season four.Is it too much to ask for them to take a more prominent role in season five? Definitely not. The pictures tell us there are Brienne and Pod adventures awaiting!

Michael McElhatton as Roose Bolton, Iwan Rheon as Ramsay Bolton and Elizabeth Webster as Walda Frey. Seems like Ramsay Bolton will play an important role in the new Season. The character gained significance in the last season with his capture of Moat Cailin and getting his father's last name.

Maisie Williams as Arya Stark: After watching the Hound die, our favorite ‘lil warrior said “valar morghulis” and boarded a ship to Braavos. She is back and something tells us she's going to kick everyone's ass.

Lena Headey as Cersei Lannister and Ian Beattie as Meryn Trant: As one might expect, Cersei is furious that Tyrion (or “that little monster,” in her words) has escaped. Could she be planning to track her brother down?

Remember how both Robb Stark and Stannis Baratheon liked to map out their war games on a table, with various chesslike pieces representing the different houses? Is something like that happening here with Jon Snow, instead of Stark?

Indira Varma as Ellaria Sand and Deobia Opaeri as Areo Hotah: A glimpse of what looks like one of the Sand Snakes doing cool party tricks. Side note — is Ellaria stepping into Arianne's story line?

Emilia Clarke as Daenerys Targaryen looks strangely sad. Somewhere between taking over cities and embarrassing the hell out of Jorah, Daenerys Targaryen came to the realization that having three huge dragons flying around killing things might not be the smartest idea, so she locked them up in the catacombs. So, is she missing her dragons?

Tommen's getting tall, and we all though it was Joffrey for a second! Wow. But clearly, he is quite the listener and seems like taking his mother's advises.
