Asthma couldn't stop Priyanka Chopra from becoming a superstar

Priyanka Chopra can do anything! And there's no hyperbole involved in this statement because she has been one of the most successful female entertainers in the 21st century so far. She became Ms World when she was just a teenager, after that, she went on to rule the fashion industry and Bollywood. But hey, Priyanka Chopra wasn't someone to be held back by geographical boundaries, and she became an international star with her smash hit music videos followed by making a strong mark in Hollywood. While Priyanka is doing extremely well professionally, she is also the happiest she has ever been on the personal front.

After reading all of this, you might find it difficult to wrap your head around how one person can manage ALL OF THIS at such an early stage in their life!?

Priyanka Chopra is an example of someone who has worked really hard to reach where she is and stays at the top of her game, mentally and physically. If we told you she has been suffering from asthma since she was 5, would you believe it?

Shocking right? No one expects one of the most successful and beautiful women in the world to have asthma. But her celebrity status doesn’t take away from the fact that she is human too. And now she is taking a stand to bust myths related to asthma, through an initiative with Cipla.

Asthma is a chronic condition like diabetes or hypertension and requires regular medication as advised by your practitioner. While there is no known cure for asthma, its symptoms and onset of attacks can be controlled and reigned in with the right medical care. Awareness about the disease and the best treatment is also crucial to help in India to lead a normal life

The best way to bust myths is to start by creating awareness around the actual truths. How can people believe that inhalers stunt the growth of children who use it? Priyanka Chopra laughs it off in the video. She grew up just fine! Another prominent myth is asthmatics should refrain from exercise. Tell that to Priyanka who works in an industry where she is constantly on the move, and where working out to stay fit and in shape is a routine. Someone needs to break down these myths for everyone, which is exactly what Priyanka is doing by becoming a part of the Berok Zindagi initiative. It’s spearheaded by Cipla and is doing all it can to spread some much-needed awareness about asthma in India.

Check out the complete video of Priyanka Chopra busting 5 common myths around Asthma and inhalers. Visit Cipla’s Breathe Free website, a comprehensive support system against asthma, and while you are on the site, you can share the story of your fight against asthma. Your story can inspire millions! #OpenUpToAsthma

Having been through the ordeals of asthma herself, Priyanka believes that no child or adult should have to fight for their right to breathe. Together with Cipla, she is working hard to banish the myths and misbeliefs that are associated with asthma, and help patients learn more about the benefits of inhalers as a safe and effective treatment.
