This medley has come to be known as a Penn Masala classic: a mash up of Hindi and English songs.

A post on their Facebook page reads, "In light of the tragedies that have been occurring across the world over the past months, we wanted to compose a song commemorating the hope and resilience that exists within us all. We hope you join us in extending our heartfelt thoughts and prayers to the victims of shootings, floods, and terror that have been abound in our world. Please share with your loved ones if you enjoyed this tribute."

Penn Masala was started in 1996 by four Indian students at the University of Pennsylvania, the all-male group already has eight full-length albums to its credit, and released its ninth one titled Resonance last Thursday.

The video on the evolution of Bollywood music released by the group in March 2014 shot them to instant fame.
