Last date for filing I-T returns extended to 14 Oct in Gujarat

New Delhi: The government today extended the last date for filing of income tax returns up to October 14 from September 30 in cases of income tax assessees in the state of Gujarat.

“On consideration of reports of dislocation of general life caused due to recent heavy rains and floods in Gujarat, the CBDT has extended the ‘due-date’ for filing Returns of Income from September 30 to October 14, in cases of Income Tax assessees in Gujarat,” an official statement said.

Heavy rains since September 23 had claimed the lives of at least six people in Gujarat, the Gujarat government had said.
