Allahabad: The Allahabad Nagar Nigam (ANN) authorities on Sunday night sealed two slaughterhouses, which were operating despite a ban order.
Veterinary Officer of Allahabad Nagar Nigam Dheeraj Goel told IANS on Monday that two slaughterhouses -- one in Eidbagh and the other in Atala area of the city -- were closed on 17 May, 2016 following an order from the pollution department.
"On Sunday, we got information that some activities were being carried out illegally at these slaughterhouses despite the ban. So, we immediately reached the spots along with the force and sealed both slaughter-houses again," Goel said.
He said there were three slaughterhouses in the city and "all are closed now".
The action came on the day Yogi Adityanath took oath as Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh.
