Teenage girl abducted, gangraped by 3 youths in Uttar Pradesh
A 14-year-old girl was allegedly abducted and gangraped by three youths in Khedikurmu village in Shamli district, police said on Sunday.
Muzaffarnagar: A 14-year-old girl was allegedly abducted and gangraped by three youths in Khedikurmu village in Shamli district in Uttar Pradesh, police said on Sunday.
The girl's father complained that she had gone to purchase some goods when Sushil Kumar, Lokender and Mohit abducted her and gangraped her in a nearby house on Saturday, they said.
When the girl did not return, her family members started searching for her and found her in the house, police said, adding they also caught Sushil and handed him over to police after thrashing him while the other accused managed to escape.
On the basis of the complaint, a case was registered against the three accused and Sushil arrested, they said.
The girl has been sent for medical examination and search is on to nab the absconding accused, police added.
In a separate incident, a shopkeeper on Saturday allegedly tried to rape 10-year-old when she has gone to purchase goods from his shop at Purkazi town in the district.
A case was registered under sections 376 (rape), 511 (attempting to commit offences) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of IPC and POCSO Act against shopkeeper Akbar who is absconding.
Uttar Pradesh Police tightens security in Muzaffarnagar's Shamli, after shivlinga found desecrated at local temple
A Shivlinga was found desecrated in a temple in village Hasanpur in Shamli district on Wednesday following which devotees held protests over the incident, police said.
Special arrangements are being made in Muzaffarnagar and Shamli districts besides deployment of several paramilitary forces to ensure thousand of voters in the riot-hit areas can cast their vote freely on 10 April.
BSP supremo Mayawati today alleged the recent riots in Muzaffarnagar and Shamli districts in Uttar Pradesh had exposed connivance between the Samajwadi Party and the BJP.
