Six Hindu pilgrims swept away by overflowing river in Nepal

Kathmandu: At least six Hindu pilgrims,  including four women, have died and three others reported missing after they were swept away by a swollen river in central Nepal. The pilgrims were drowned while trying to cross a rain-swollen Kamala river in Sindhuli district yesterday. They were on their way to Madhu Ganga Mahadev temple. PTI[/caption] The dead bodies of the pilgrims were recovered in the downstream of the swollen river. Thirteen people were rescued with the help of the Nepal Police and Army personnel. Three people are still missing after the incident. Every year hundreds of devotees from India and different parts of Nepal flock in the Mahadev temple during the month of Sawan. PTI
